About the Project

Information Updates

This sourcebook is designed to be a work-in-progress that will be periodically updated as new information becomes available. It is intended to be an educational guidebook and not an advocacy document. Often a group of strategies work together as a system to provide the most effective results. Research shows that some policies, programs, and laws work better than others. While this sourcebook notes those findings, it does not make recommendations. Rather, it provides a breadth of information from which readers can form their own opinions and make their own choices.

In conjunction with this sourcebook, a website including detailed, state-specific information has been created by The Century Council. In addition to the information contained in this document, the website provides summaries of the research upon which this sourcebook is based, as well as state-specific tables and charts. The Council will be regularly updating this site with the latest changes in state laws and policies as they relate to hardcore drunk driving. New research findings will be added as they become available.
